Historique :	Les donateurs furent excommuniés par Louis XIV pour pillages et assassinats : Françoise Barbe de Moreau et Marc-Antoine de Beaujeu. Marc-Antoine de Beaujeu écrivit à l'archevêque de Sens, Mgr Gondrin : 'Vous m'excommuniez, mais voyez comme je suis bien catholique. Saint Edme a fait en ma faveur un miracle. Il a guéri mon enfant. En reconnaissance j'ai fait faire un tableau où toute ma famille est représentée avec saint Edme'. Trois tableaux du 17e siècles signés I.LE.TOVRNEVR sont conservés dans l'Yonne à Jaulges, Esnon et Brienon.
